This webinar will focus on how laboratory research inspired by client and patient reports has led to changes and improvements in CBT in the clinic. Starting with a review of memory and beliefs about memory in OCD, and then moving to a newer direction focused on fears and beliefs about losing control, the first hour will cover the expansion of this work to the clinic with a transdiagnostic focus. The second hour is reserved for Q & A about these topics and other themes related to the history of CBT and to linking science and practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • How laboratory science related to memory and beliefs about memory has led to changes in CBT for OCD.
  • Novel work on beliefs about losing control and its potential for a broader, transdiagnostic set of changes to CBT.
  • How science and practice inform each other, and about how CBT changes over time.
